Henrik Ingo has worked 5 years at MongoDB. Initially as a Solutions Architect working with European customers, he's now in R&D on the performance team. Prior to MongoDB he was active - and an activist - in the MySQL space, and employed by MySQL (MySQL NDB Cluster team), MariaDB and Galera Cluster. Henrik is the author of the book "Open Life: The Philosophy of Open Source"

Now that MongoDB supports both joins and transactions, users could in theory go back to using MongoDB as a relational database. However, this is not the intent with transactions and would not be optimal. In this session we explore the spectrum of data modeling alternatives from heavily normalized to the more document oriented models and even some graph queries. And we then consider what use cases are optimal for each model, both from a developer as well as performance point of view.

This session contains code examples both from MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
